We (MR) had a chance to speak with the Christendom Man of the Match Alec Charoenthep (AC).

MR: First 15’s match of the spring, how did it feel to get a full side back on the pitch?

AC: It felt great to get back out, everyone worked hard for the past 5 or 6 weeks at training

MR: Yellow cards have seemingly been a common occurrence in the fall and the team picked up two today. What caused these Saturday?

AC: The yellow cards this past weekend were just unfortunate scenarios, neither offenses were intentionally dangerous it just ended up being dangerous.

MR: Christendom was game and leading at half, what was the half time discussion like for Mother’s?

AC: Trailing at half really helped get us fired up during our half time discussion. We diagnosed the problems and aimed to come out with fire and fix the problems. (Which they did)

MR: You all score a try to bring it to 24-25, then Philip Harrison scores a converted try to go up 31-25, was this the late winter/early spring training showing it’s effects, hows the conditioning of the team relative to the fall?

AC: Our conditioning is getting better and better every week. Coach Stephen’s intensity and conditioning sprints every week have really increased our fitness.

MR: Defense on turf is always painful, especially when you are bringing on younger players who don’t have as much game time. Christendom had to sense they had a chance, what defensive sequence stands out as the “shut the door” moment?

AC: I don’t think there was a single defensive sequence that shut the the door. Throughout the day I think the defensive standouts were myself, and Daniel Trump, who returned to rugby after a 9 month knee injury. We both did a great job of pressuring and tackling all day.

Congratulations to Alec and the rest of team on a great win.
