We (MR) had a chance to catch up with Bradlee Nicholls (BN) on Friday to discuss last weeks home tournament win

MR: Big home match with Kutztown and NDC there, you all must of been so ready to get out there, how did you all mentally prep for Saturday.

BN: We all knew our roles in the game, and we knew our game plan extremely well. Coach Tyler also kept pushing us at practice to prepare for the two tough sides. Also our team all came into the tournament with the right mindset, knowing that if we won this home tournament, we’d be well set for the conference championship.

MR: Do you feel like you all sent a message for the fall season to NDC and Kutztown?

BN: I feel like we did send a message, as being such a small school and winning and beating such teams, would show them we are 100% ready to take on the D1A 15’s fall season and will be competing with them to win it.

MR: The NDC game seemed like a nail bitter until the end. Your defense was a big part of keeping mothers in the game, did you have a feeling the offense would come at some point?

BN: I knew NDC would be tough, considering it was the last game so everyone, including NDC, would be tired. I just played my part in both attack and defense. I knew I had to make an impact on defense and the rest would take care of itself, as I know my team would handle the rest.

MR: Headed to JMU this weekend and you all will most likely see them in the finals again before the championship match day. Always tough to beat a team a 3rd time, especially at home. How valuable would a tournament final win be over JMU at their place one week before the championships?

BN: I have a feeling it would set the tone for the conference championship if we beat them again. JMU is never an easy game, so we also have to be on our best performance as they have two or three really good players. Beating them this weekend at their home tournament would likely show JMU that the conference championship won’t exactly be easy.
